SPEECH OF
PROFESSOR HUSSEIN FAHMY IN THE SIGNING CEREMONY
AT THE JW
MARRIOTT
Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen. It is
a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to address this
distinguished gathering of academics from the US and Egypt.
On behalf of the MAM and the President of the MA system
Professor Nabil Deabes I would like to extend a very warm
welcome to each and every member of the delegation from the
University of Houston Victoria and to Mr. Haynes Mahoney
Counselor for Press and Cultural Affairs of the US Embassy who
is representing HE the Ambassador of the United States of
America in Egypt.
I am honored and privileged to
serve as Dean of Graduate Studies and coordinator of this MBA
Link. The University of Houston Victoria is a member of the
University of Houston System and accredited by the AACSB
International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business. This accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in
management education.
-
This program will lead
towards a Master of Business Administration degree awarded
by UHV.
-
This MBA Program supports the
Quality Assurance and Accreditation Project, one of six
priority projects directed towards the improvement of
quality, efficiency and relevance of higher education in
Egypt.
-
This Joint MBA program will
allow local, Arab, and Middle Eastern students, as well as
American and other students worldwide, to share their
knowledge, skills and cultural perspectives.
-
All MBA courses will be
delivered utilizing a combination of classroom and online
instruction. As a result, students of this part of the world
will be exposed via the internet to scholars, practitioners,
and students from around the world.
I hope that this is only the beginning of a mutually successful
and productive cooperation between both institutions.
Last but not least, this Pilot MBA program will allow a state
of the art American educational system and fully accredited
academic program to be within the reach of Egyptian, Arab, and
Middle Eastern students. There is no need to cross the Pacific,
to study and receive an MBA from the US. The American modern
educational system of the University of Houston Victoria (UHV)
is now “home available.”
Thank you.
